Stephanie Urbina Jones was born in a bi-cultural home in San Antonio, Texas where she grew up hearing sounds from both sides of the border.
Her tapestry of music combines her life experiences and the sounds that influenced her soul. From country rock to latin blues-pop, she has created a style all her own. This unique artist is poised to be the very first Hispanic- American female to break through country music. She is not only a proven songwriter and vocalist; she is a passionate performer with a presence and spirit that is infectious. Her heritage plays a strong role in her music, but does not limit her in any way as she transcends all borders of the music and entertainment world.
Her writing is fiery yet vulnerable, intelligent yet simple and down right funny at times with a feisty spicy rockin edge that comes from living and humbly learning a lot from her own life's lessons. Through years of experience on the road she has become a master of storytelling taking her audiences on a road trip through their own lives and emotions through song.
Drawing from her passion to honor her heritage she became the first independent female to reach #1 on the Texas Music chart with her single "Shakin Things Up" as well as the first to sign to the Latin division of Gibson Guitars . She has been the face and voice in English and Spanish for Fernandez Honda and is currently sponsored by the national product Arriba! Salsa.
In 2011 Stephanie crossed a few more borders when she stepped into TV and film first by being cast on "Troubadour Texas" http://troubadourtx.com/artists/stephanieurbinajones/ a National TV show airing across the country on the CW channel. Within the same month Jones then was starring as the female lead in a Texas Western Short entitled "Courage" filmed in the heart of Texas. In addition she and her company "Texicana Entertainment" created, produced, promoted and executed a 5 city / 6 month series across Texas celebrating the beauty of her roots in a festival like series entitled "The Texicana Summer Series".
Jones has a fiery heart and passion to use her gifts to help and empower others. Her last single and video entitled "I'm Not A Pinata" shot at the world famous honky tonk Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth , spawned her working with CASA ( Court Appointed Special Advocates) and doing PSA's to help raise awareness and funds to give children a voice. Currently her self-penned song "Revolucion en Mi Corazon" is being used as a call to action in Los Angeles for the American Diabetes Association to help empower latinos with information , education and the medical help they need.
2012 promises to be a breakthrough year with new music, movies and more on the horizon. At this point this singer, songwriter, artist, advocate, actor, entrepreneur, wife, mother and passionate woman is on the move and "Shakin Things Up" crossing every border one border at a time. Vamanos Ya'll!
